AIRO Announces 2023 Internship Program

To help develop the workforce for Western Australia’s (WA) burgeoning MedTech industry, AIRO has announced the commencement of its 2023 intern program. This initiative provides the opportunity for students in mathematics, physics, engineering, and computer science to gain real-world experience working with some of the best minds in the field. AIRO is committed to helping create a world-class MedTech sector in WA, and the commencement of the 2023 internships are another step towards achieving that goal.

The intern program is led by Richard Chipper, AIRO's Chief Technology Officer, providing participants with unparalleled experience in a technically advanced and commercially focused environment. The program immerses them in the development of cutting-edge medical devices encompassing robotics, lasers, and intelligent control systems.

“The AIRO Intern Program provides hands-on training in the rapidly emerging hi-tech industry and world-class medical device development.” Mr Chipper said. “Ultimately, we’re advancing Australia’s global competitiveness. Our intern training is comprehensive, involving new technologies, methodologies, rapid prototyping, and globally recognised medical device standards (ISO 13485). We want to help young West Australians with a genuine desire to make the world a better place, and in doing so help create a highly skilled local MedTech workforce.”
